The Task:
My goal for this was to create a very minimalist poster. I wanted the design to rely only on type.
Challenges:
Figuring out what event I can make the poster for. I chose a photography fair because, like design, photography communicates a story. So I felt both ideas work well together.
Outcome:
The result is an airy poster design that uses very big lettering, while keeping a lot of breathing space by using a thinner font. The half-tone spot of color used in the background was very much inspired by poster designs made for the Sundance Film Festival.
